Opportunities Await You Today
You are in the middle of a God opportunity right now!
Did you know God has things for you, just for you, every day? He has opportunities and doors ready around every corner! But most of us do not look at each day or each moment, and see what God sees in it. What keeps us from seeing these daily opportunities? How can these daily opportunities affect our lives? How do we take charge of our day and seize these opportunities?
James 4:13-15 (ESV) “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit.”-yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “ If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.””
Matthew 6:34 (ESV) “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is it its own trouble. ”Some people get so focused on tomorrow; they miss their today. Do not get caught up in fear for tomorrow, anxiety for tomorrow, worry for tomorrow, and miss your God opportunity today. So many believers waste their days allowing emotions and feelings to dictate their day and they miss out because of that. God has purpose in this day just for you. We need to take value in every day that we have. Everyday, good or bad, life has something for you. But more importantly, every day God has something for you. The opportunities in your today, are only available to you. Those opportunities are waiting for you to step into them. Your today is filled with potential and purpose, opportunities and miracles are waiting on your arrival.
Be present in your today but have vision for your tomorrow.
One of the biggest things to keep us from stepping into these opportunities, is hesitation. We hesitate to walk through the doors God has for us for many reasons. Maybe a hesitation to let go of something God has called us to? Maybe its because we do not fully understand who we are in him? Maybe life threw us something that is taking all our focus? There is a hindrance to the hesitation. It hinders what God wants to do in your purpose & your calling. If you keep hesitating, if you keep putting it off, you may reach the expiration of the opportunity. We all have wasted days, but some are living in their wasted days stewing in their feelings. How do we get out of wasted days and emotion lead lives? We need to draw a line, stand up, and declare enough is enough. Be firm and say NO MORE! Stand on the victory God gave you, stand on the promises He gave you, Speak to your identity! Tell that situation who you are and do not allow your situation to tell you who you are.
Do not give an ounce to your yesterday.
There is an old saying, that you are the author of your story. To write your story the way you want it to read, be willing to say goodbye to everything in your yesterday. It will hinder the anointing of your today. Do not live in your yesterday, do not go back and ask your yesterday if you can do anything. Leave your past, your hurt, and your yesterday, in yesterday. Today has more in it than yesterday did and tomorrow will have more in it than today.
You are your roadblock to your best days!
Psalms 118:24 (ESV) “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
In the book of psalms, we read where David chose to rejoice, and he chose to be glad in his today. Who is keeping you from rejoicing? Who is keeping you from praising? Who is keeping you from being glad in your today? It’s you, you make that choice. Rejoicing takes you right into the presence of God. In the presence of God, you will find your purpose. Rejoicing and being glad in today, is the first opportunity in your day. God is not in control of your day, you are. God gave humanity free will. In genesis, it tells us we have dominion; you have authority and power here on earth. The only way God can step into your situation, is in that place of your surrender. When you’re in that place of submission, then He can step in to control that situation. He then, can fight the battle on your behalf.
Ephesians 5:15-17 (ESV) “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
Allow God to lead you into those God opportunities every single day is an opportunity for you to grow in God. But there are also opportunities God sets up for open doors and things we would not get to, unless we are aware of the purpose and opportunity in that day, to step into it. Just like every good opportunity that comes, does not mean it’s a God opportunity. A good opportunity may be successful, but a God opportunity will take you farther. Wisdom is yielding to the Holy Spirit, who directs us into the God opportunities every day. We need to cultivate our spirit to a place where we are flowing and connected to the Holly Spirit. To the point where you hear direction from Him at any time.
God opens the eyes of people. Just like Elisha prayed for his servant when they were surrounded. When his servant could finally see, He saw the angel army. Don’t miss what is available for you, because that choice is really yours. Every day is an opportunity where your choices are writing your story.
We pray that God opens the eyes of your spirit, that you will not miss the opportunities He has for you. That you would see it and not hesitate to step into it. In Jesus name, amen
